Carrot ‘Harlequin’ – Daucus carota
DESCRIPTION: Heritage style carrots in shades of orange, yellow, white and the original colour of carrots- purple! Festive for salads and cooked side dishes, rich in vitamins and antioxidants.
PLANTING: Sow direct fortnightly to extend the cropping season. Lightly cover seed to 5mm. Poor soil is best for carrots to avoid forking – rake it well to sift out any stones and break up clods of earth.
CARE: Keep moist through germination and while growing. Water regularly through the growing period. Avoid high nitrogen fertilisers. Harvest in 12-16 weeks from sowing.
